Soldiers Helping Soldiers
Under the direction of retired Captain Richard "Ric" Morris, U.S. Cavalry, we are pleased to extend our equestrian therapy to U.S. Veterans.
Veterans often return from combat with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injuries (TBI), and physical injuries.
According to the Veteran Administration's National Center for PTSD:
"The conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan have resulted in increased numbers of Veterans who have experienced traumatic brain injuries (TBI). The Department of Defense and the Defense and Veteran's Brain Injury Center estimate that 22% of all combat casualties from these conflicts are brain injuries, compared to 12% of Vietnam related combat casualties. 60% to 80% of soldiers who have other blast injuries may also have traumatic brain injuries."
Equestrian therapy has been shown to be beneficial to countering the effects of PTSD, TBI, and physical injuries.
